GIRLS ATTEND SKILLS EVENTS
The Serious Starts Here campaign was launched to mark the 2nd year of our Ladies Gaelic Football partnership which focused on investing at local level and in the community. As part of the commitment, we conducted research into young girls’ involvement in sport and its impact on them. A rst of its kind in Ireland, this study offers fresh insights into something that we at Lidl feel really passionate about. Our research revealed that playing team sports helps women build a strong set of life skills, like better mental well-being, dealing with pressure, and self-con dence. Unfortunately, half of girls drop out of their sports by the beginning of secondary school. Our research shows how it important it is for women to stay in sport and that’s why we’ve invested €2.5 million into Ladies Gaelic Football to date.
